As an information architect, Kate is involved in the website design process from the beginning to the end.
Her responsibilities include everything from researching the target audience and conducting stakeholder interviews with people from within the client organization to conducting usability testing on potential users of the new site. The biggest part of her job, though, is creating the structure of new websites, from page titles and navigation to preliminary content strategy. It serves as the blueprint that the designers, writers, and developers will use to build the finished site.
Kate is an IU alum, with a bachelor’s degree in comparative literature and Germanic studies as well as a dual master’s degree in library and information science. She's also an adjunct instructor in the School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering, teaching information architecture to master's degree students.
