Nicole plays many roles at IU Communications. As a member of the presidential communications team, she helps execute IU President Michael A. McRobbie’s overall communications strategy by providing research, planning, writing services, and content development for his website.

Within the university communications unit, Nicole manages the distribution of news releases and monitors media coverage for both the IU Bloomington and IUPUI campuses. She also evaluates the effectiveness of the unit’s internal and external communications and serves as the unit’s advisor in its transition to the Web Content Management System (WCMS).

Nicole has worked at IU Communications since 2004, when she took on the role of assistant director of marketing strategy. Before coming to Indiana University, she was a reporter and editor at the Kokomo Tribune, where she once chased a tornado to ensure she was the first at the scene to report on the aftermath. She earned both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in journalism from IU Bloomington.

In her free time, Nicole enjoys reading, gourmet cooking, landscaping, home improvement and decorating, and travel.

For a non-technical person, I answer a surprising number of questions about how to use our various enterprise applications.
