Kay Daniel

Production Coordinator

Von Lee
517 E. Kirkwood Avenue

Bloomington, IN 47408

Kay is passionate about print—she finds it exciting to see new pieces being developed and enjoys working with the art directors to make each piece special. Whatever job she is working on is the most important thing in her life at that moment. In fact, Kay’s concentration and attention to detail is so extraordinary that she has been dubbed “Eagle Eye.” It is her desire to consistently produce jobs that exceed customer expectations.

Kay came to IU Communications after 25 years with a local printing company. She began her career in printing as a paste-up artist, and then became a proofreader, an art director, and eventually a customer service representative. This extensive experience, along with continuing attendance at print-related seminars, has given Kay an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of printing.

Kay enjoys reading anything and everything, watching TV, and making paper origami earrings and Christmas tree ornaments. You may see her at local art fairs and especially at holiday markets selling her wearable art and ornaments. You may also see her performing during Open Mic night at Bloomington’s Comedy Attic.

Kay and her husband Roger, who retired from IU in 2014, are recent empty nesters. Their son Tim works at Stone Belt and is an Ivy Tech student with hopes of transferring to IU to study biotechnology. Their daughter Kelsey graduated from IU in 2014, and now has a position with IU Residential Programs and Services.

I treat every job with the same seriousness, whether it’s 200 digitally printed postcards or 60,000 perfect-bound viewbooks. I want everything we produce to look exceptional.
