IU Communications

Margie is the director of news & media for the IUPUI campus and the IU School of Medicine. Margie has been in the public relations and communication fields for nearly 15 years, mainly in the nonprofit and civil sectors, and received her Bachelor of Science from Indiana University.

Prior to joining IU, Margie worked at IU Health for nearly four years as public relations manager. Before that, she served in former Mayor Bart Peterson’s administration as press secretary and deputy communications director. Within his office, she also held various public information officer roles for the Department of Public Works, Animal Care and Control, and Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

In her personal time, Margie likes hiking and spending time with her family, including traveling the state watching her kids play soccer.
