IU Communications

Eric is manager of science communications, specializing in the research conducted at the IU School of Medicine. He also provides communications support to the school’s executive leadership. He is privileged to work with the talented and dedicated scientists and physicians at one of the nation’s leading schools of medicine.

Before joining the IU School of Medicine, he spent nearly 20 years as a reporter and editor covering business, science, medicine and technology at The Indianapolis Star, and four years as a reporter at The Lorain (Ohio) Journal.

Eric grew up in Indianapolis, then received his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in urban studies from the University of Chicago.

Away from work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and family, including three grandkids, as well as doing photography and getting into the outdoors.
